Okay, this is driving me batty. I've decided to use the Penguin Elegant w/ Sidebar layout for my journal, with the background a hunter green and the boxes a nice, eye-strain minimizing tan, which you can see if you just click on this ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) bella_evergreen link here. This layout has no icon for each post on the 'recent entries' page, which I don't at all mind and really rather like.
However, if you click on the 'friends' link on the upper left corner of my IJ page, you'll see what's bothering me. On my Friends Page, the icons show in the tan boxes but with a white border, and the longer the post, the longer the border grows, until it's a huge white streak. It really messes up the quiet color scheme, and irritates me like nothing else. I could make the Friends Page layout different, but then the colors are skewed. I could make the boxes white and be done with it, but that makes for burning eyes. Or I could abandon the layout entirely, which I really don't want to do.
Is there a way to fix this? I just want the boxes all tan, but I don't want to get rid of the icons themselves because I recognize people by them. Smarter people - help?
